Why we built this
Most people start a renovation with no idea what it should cost. You search a job, and the first results are overseas figures, contractor sites pitching for work, or numbers so vague they are useless. By the time you get a quote, you have no way of telling whether it is fair.
TradeConnections fixes that. Every calculator and guide here is built for Australian conditions, using local labour and material costs. You get a realistic price range in seconds, for free, without handing over your email or sitting through a sales pitch.
How we keep the numbers honest
Our cost ranges are based on typical Australian pricing, then reviewed and updated every year so they stay close to what you will actually be quoted. Where prices swing between states or regions, we say so, rather than pretending one number fits the whole country.
These tools give you an estimate, not a quote. Site access, materials, finish level and your location all move the final figure. The point is to walk into quotes informed, so you can spot a sharp price and question an inflated one.
How it stays free
There is no charge to use anything on this site, and there never will be. We keep the lights on in three honest ways:
